								Don't Wanna Self-Tape? Think Again! My favorite example of how a self-taped audition can nail that booking comes from brilliant actor, coach, and all around inspirational guy, Jack Plotnick. Watch his recent Best Buy commercial here. Pretty fun, huh? Well... his audition instructions were these: "Tape yourself dancing down the street." He did. Watch the audition footage here. Now, there are some actors who will say they shouldn't have to self-tape. It's a hassle. It's not their job. Whatever. I say, of course it's fine to decide NOT to self-tape. But out there, somewhere, some other actor is not only putting himself on tape, he's nailing it and then getting flown to the UK to shoot the high-paying commercial. Why not you? It doesn't have to be technically perfect (and you'll get better, the more you do it), it just needs to show us what you can do. So do it! Grab some sides and self-tape today! Then go book it. :)
