Fortunate Sheets
Fortune cookies in bed,
more crumbs than words,
crackle as I snap them open,
crunch in my mouth
as I laugh at the sight
of me in my room
waiting to read
the words,
“Go to bed, fool, it’s late,”
as I take one last bite.
