[NOTE: This is Day 7 from my on-demand mini-course called 44 Days With Venus. If shifting your relationship with the planet of love, money, enoughness, values, and valuables is something you’d like to explore, please consider experiencing the entire course. Thank you!]
Whether you have an altar (or 3… or 8… or more) already or have only ever flirted with the idea, it’s time to build one specifically for Venus! Yay!
Take a little time to do this on Venus’ day (Friday, starting at sunrise where you live), or perhaps on Moon’s day’s evening (Monday, starting at sunset), or maybe at Venus’ hour (check one of the planetary hours apps or methods I recommend over here), or, heck, whenever the hell you feel like it because Venus WILL TELL YOU when it’s time to honor her in this way.
She’s direct like that.

Now, before you find yourself feeling concerned that you’re getting it wrong or messing something up or that this is silly, I want to remind you that partial credit ALWAYS counts with Chart Harmony.
Your Venus altar is any space prepared specifically for doing the work of connecting more deeply with Venus.
You can even IMAGINE the space and that’ll do! Do NOT stall out on this because you don’t have the right stuff or enough stuff or whatever. Even if all you do is arrange fresh flowers and declare privately that “this is for you, Venus,” it is enough. Got it?
Tips:
~ Ask each item if it would like to be included on the Venus altar. Wait for the answer.
~ Consider doing less at first, so you can learn which tools are doing well together and what their energy is like together. You can always layer more on later!
~ Always use caution when inviting an open flame into your work.
~ Not all crystals are water-safe. Do a little research before using water to clean your crystals and before using your crystals to create spell water!
~ Especially for Venus, how everything LOOKS is a priority. So, better to have a few inches of a beautiful altar than a very large but less-pretty space.
Potential items for your altar:
~ a cloth, pillowcase, or placemat
~ old keys
~ magnets
~ a mirror
~ chimes
~ coins, paper money, jewels
~ photos of your ancestors
~ keepsakes
~ candles, carving tool, holder
~ incense & burner
~ feathers, shells, whiskers
~ statues of deities (especially Fortuna)
~ crystals (rose quartz, malachite, emerald, peridot, rhodonite, kunzite, jade, morganite, selenite, clear quartz)
~ metals (copper)
~ essential oils (rose, birch, vanilla, clove)
~ carrier oils (almond, MCT/fractionated coconut oil)
~ herbs (saffron, feverfew, coltsfoot, yarrow)
~ whole bay leaves
~ eucalyptus leaves
~ flowers (roses, violets, apple blossoms, geraniums)
~ salt
~ offerings (candy, wine, champagne, figs, apples, almonds, berries, grapes)
~ a small goblet or crystal bowl
~ fresh water (moon water, rosewater)
~ teas (hibiscus, elderberry, rose, red clover, violet)
~ rune stones
~ papers for petitions and sigils (or printed from this tool)
~ stand for a daily tarot (especially the Empress, Hierophant, or Justice), oracle, or angel card
~ aura cleaning spray/protection spray (water + witch hazel + aloe juice + a few drops of rosemary essential oil)
~ an apron to wear while engaging in others’ energies
IMPORTANT: You needn’t spend a lot of money to set your altar up! Just start gathering what calls to you. If acquiring anything is cost-prohibitive, draw a picture or print out a photo of the item. Let your depiction of things be energetic more than physical, if you’d like. Use found items. Gifts from your woo friends. Representations of the energy itself. Be creative as you build your sacred space! Show it off at Discord (we even have a dedicated 44V discussion area)!
Whether you’re (safely) using candles, putting a swatch of fabric on your altar or in your pocket, choosing Venus-colored wardrobe items, or even writing with a baby blue, pale pink, or bright green pen during Venus’ hour, the mindfulness with which you undertake your tributes to Venus is key.
Have fun with this! 🙂 I seriously cannot wait to see your photos. *****squeeeeeee*****
