Oh, hello you beautiful people. I am so happy to be back on your screen today!
I’m writing this at the end of a very busy day and it just makes me glow with glee how we’re creating the Hollywood we want in new and groundbreaking ways.
So, last week, I asked you to brace yourself for the shift we’re about to make from acute to chronic, when it comes to quarantinetimes and where all of this lands in the brain.
Even if you’re fortunate enough to not have felt any *dings* from quarantinetimes, you’re going to encounter folks who are very much impacted by what’s about to happen, collectively. Your empathy with them is a part of the sensitivity that makes the best storytellers.
To those who are CERTAIN there’s been no dip (Okay, Boomer.), consider this an opportunity to show grace to those who are not as fortunate as you to escape the impact of such a massive shift in status in the past year.
(Oh, and BTW, a symptom of depression is all-or-nothing thinking. For those who came at me about last week’s piece, INSISTING there’s no dip, no lull, no depressive situation afoot… do take notice of your lack of shades of grey. You may be more *dinged* than you think!)
Okay. Now back to the 99.9% of the folks who blew up my inbox and replied at the glorious — seriously, go read it — comments section of last week’s BonBlast, I’ve curated some of the amazing tools y’all have shared.
Even if you’ve previously downloaded my SMFA Dip Kit, hit this and get it again. (Use the same email address with which you already receive the BonBlast, so as not to double up, okay?)
Totally free. You’re welcome. 😉
It’s two short MP3s (one, the lesson, another, a bonus peptalk) and a PDF workbook bursting at the seams… now with the addition of tips you fine folks shared with me! Those of us who’ve been on healing journeys of our own, who’ve weathered other issues shifting from the acute to chronic setpoint in our brain, who’ve cultivated resilience in the face of all sorts of stresses… we’ve got gems for you and I’m so excited for you to dive in on all this goodness!
Let this be a resource you return to when you need a boost. Ever. Because life, y’know?
And because I’m a chatty gal (Hai, air signs!!), if you’d like to explore some of the resources in the SMFA Dip Kit and beyond, I’d love to invite you to hop on a livestream with me. Yes, there will be a replay. In fact, I’ll post it just below for you, after it happens. Or you can just click through on this. [REPLAY: Weathering the Ups and Downs of a Creative Career (Bonnie Gillespie Shares the SMFA Dip Kit)]
One of the most valuable bits of medicine for the work of soothing the downs (however acute or chronic the downs may be) is connection.
Connection is at the heart of storytelling. We create, we share our art, we are driven to tell stories… because of the connection it provides between those in our audience and ourselves.
So, come connect.
And let’s keep those muscles for navigating the ups AND the downs of this creative life we’ve chosen feeling toned and supple and ready to take on the world.
That’s our work, after all.
So much love flowing your way,
