So, last week, you’ll recall that I asked to hear from y’all, as we round out 2013. I always like to celebrate the readers of The Actors Voice and find out how you’re staying inspired, grateful, and balanced as you experience your journey as an actor. These emails are *inspiring* and I love receiving them.
If you’d like to join in the fun, my email address is below, and I’d love to hear from you. For this week’s share, we’re going to the lovely Danielle Guthrie.
I read your column this week, and I am so thankful that I have wonderful things in my life that make me happy and help keep me centered.
First and most importantly is my family. They are my world. 🙂 They run lines with me (well I can get my husband to run it three times, so I gotta make it count), help tape video submissions, and I tell them about my auditions.
Second would be nature. I just love going and sitting on the beach and quietly listening to the waves. I always seem to find the answers I am looking for when I get quiet and listen, and this makes me very happy. 🙂
I think what helps keep me going and centered is that I just keep moving forward, if I haven’t had an audition in a while, I work on writing, take a class, anything to keep me moving forward. When an audition doesn’t work out or a job falls through, I just find something to help move me forward even the tiniest bit.
I just love looking back over the past year and giving thanks for all the great things that have happened. Now, they might not seem so great by someone else’s standards, but any time I am moving closer to my dream is a win for me! I am the only one who gets to define my success. 🙂
I love cheering on others and celebrating their successes. When I see someone from one of my classes on a show, it reminds me that this truly is possible. My turn will come, and I just have to keep showing up until it does. 🙂
A big thank you for your columns!! I really enjoy them and can’t wait for the new edition of Self-Management for Actors! Happy Holidays.
