Info for International Actors in the States?

Bonnie,

I do not have a particular topic in mind to discuss, but thank you so much! I read your column along with Mark’s every week and I am absorbing the information you are posting like a sponge.

I have been acting in New York for the past five years, but only now with your help am I able to really see how the business works and start my hardcore targeting campaign. I am a very specific type, as I am Italian and speak French, Spanish, and some German and Portuguese. So I am really trying to focus on all multilingual and internationally-oriented castings.

Moreover, I am now working on getting a stronger online presence with Facebook, Tumblr, and all other social media. I am also creating a newsletter and just now I was trying to figure out how to use Google Alerts.

I would love for you to devote a post to foreign actors in the States and all the challenges they have to face.

Thank you,
Gabriella Mazza

Hello Gabriella, and thanks for writing! I’m so glad you’ve found my columns helpful as you navigate cementing your actor brand, focusing in on your targets, and getting your work in front of the buyers who most need to know you exist. Awesome!

I would *love* to do an article on the challenges specific to the international actors who make their way to the States. I’ve written a little bit about this topic, but the last piece I did was a few years back, so I’d like to hear from international actors who have feedback to share!

So, calling all international actors working in the States! Hit me up with an email (address is just below) and share your tips on how to handle issues specific to your experiences. I’ll feature your awesome shares in a future column (unattributed if you prefer; just say so in your email). Thanks in advance and thank you, Gabriella, for sparking this convo!
