Hello beautiful people of Expansive Capacity! Happy Woo-Woo Wednesday, oh joyful ones!

This month, in support of our focus on Your Relationship with Joy, we’re zeroing in on the 5th house, the seat of joy!

As always, if you don’t already have it handy, go render your chart at a site like Astro (choose “natal chart, ascendant” under free horoscopes) and in that cool wheel o’ YOU, look at the numbers along the center of the chartwheel. Find the 5.

As usual, I offer up my chart as an example. After we find the 5, we move outward to locate any planets or placements in the 5th house as well as the sign or signs that are along the outside edge of the chartwheel. If you’re not so familiar with the glyphs along the outside of the chartwheel, these are the 12 signs of the zodiac, which you can navigate using the guide I have for you at my “What Your Birthday Says About You” free training series.

Looking at my chart’s situation, there’s a tiny little glyph labeled “True Node” in the 5th house, but none of the big personality planets or placements (nor any of the generational planets) in this space. We’ll talk about the nodes some other time (it’s a big topic, and definitely beyond the scope of this month’s focus). So you could say my 5th house is “empty,” but of course there’s a sign or two to consider (again, look at the glyphs along the outside of the chartwheel). For me, it’s about 10% Aquarius and 20% Pisces. Cool.

Rather than focus on natal placements (or lack thereof) in your 5th house or even the tone of the sign (or signs) your 5th house covers, we’re gonna have a look at what ACTIVITY in the here and now might be going on in your 5th house.

Meaning, I want you to visit your favorite app that tracks transits and start by finding the sign or signs that are a part of your 5th house.

Again, using my chart for illustration, I’d look at the last few degrees of Aquarius and the majority of Pisces. At the time I’m writing these words, we’ve got one planet in the range that covers my 5th house: Jupiter. Cool!

As y’all know from my tour through the planets (and deeper through my “What Your Birthday Says About You” free training series), that’s a pretty expansive planet to have touring my house of joy. Yay!

What might you have, touring your house of joy?

Since each of the planets moves at a different pace, you WILL always have something hitting your 5th house every month (the moon), maybe more! So, your work today is to take a look at what’s transiting your 5th house (revisit the free training I linked above to determine the vibe of that planet or luminary that’s transiting your 5th house) and start leaning into the JOY that this particular activity activates!

And if nothing’s there yet, you can use the motion of Planet Watcher (just advance the calendar one day at a time to see how fast something might be headed toward your 5th house) to calculate what’s coming next (and how soon), so that you are ready to fully receive the gifts that transit will bring.

Remember, the fifth house is the house of CREATION. It is ruled by the sun and its natural sign is Leo. This is where we play, make love, use our creative genius to build new things with others, and love basking while we do it. We take risks in the 5th house. We find our joy!

Let’s jam about this in the comments at the dojo. I’d love to help you prep for whatever might be moving into your 5th house, giving you the opportunity to intersect with more joy, organically.

Of course, if you haven’t already done so, register for our monthly Zoom mastermind sesh! And as always, if you’re intrigued to the point that you’re more than woo-curious now, I’ve got so much Chart Harmony goodness available for you. Check out my offerings!

All my love,
