Recharging Is SO Important. Thanks!

Hello Bonnie,

David Hill here! You featured the premiere episode of my webseries Roomies! as the Self-Produced Clip of the Week back in April of 2010. In addition, I had the pleasure of meeting you at a Tweet-Up earlier this year (my good friend, Ben Whitehair introduced us). Hopefully that’s enough to jog your memory.

Anyway, just wanted to send you another email to let you know that I’m still enjoying The Actors Voice and recently went and reread the article you wrote on the same day you posted the Roomies! episode. The article was entitled Recharging and it focused on the importance of endurance when attempting to make it in the industry. I would like you to know that John (my roommate/production partner) and I have been finding so much truth to this it’s not even funny.

A couple months ago we hit a point where we both realized we’d been slacking on what we set out here to do, so we decided to jump back in the saddle and get things done. Since then, we have premiered the third season of Roomies! You can watch the first episode of the third season on our YouTube channel. This episode shows what happens when David sets out to heat himself up some lunch.

Please, please, please keep up the column. I will continue to tell my friends. 🙂 Hope all is well and that I run into you at the next Tweet-Up!

Thank you for your time,
David Hill

David, thank you. 🙂 I always enjoy connecting with fun folks, both through the column and at live events like the LA Actors’ Tweet-Up. I hope I’ll see you at the next one (scheduled for December 6th). I was fortunate enough to get to attend the NY Actors’ Tweet-Up last month and I think these events are so healthy for our community.

Good for you and your roommate, taking that case of the “slactor syndrome” and turning it into more episodes for your series. That’s outstanding!

I think everyone occasionally suffers fits of low energy, lack of motivation, or straight-up bummed-outed-ness sometimes, when they’re on the creative pursuit. The trick is not to NEVER get blue. It’s to find creative ways to cheer up, stay plugged in, endure.

I’m so glad you have your series to keep you at it! Thanks for checking in and I hope to see you next week!
