So, I’m writing you from the SMFA tour in Orlando! But we’ve launched registration for the first-ever Six Weeks To LA program and the countdown is on! The Pervasiveness of Brand!
I think we often forget how much we’re bombarded by brand, daily. I’m not asking creatives to get hostile or over the top with their brand, but I am hoping that even — heck, especially — the most creative folks out there can find brilliant ways to just put their vibe out there, naturally. Jonathan Coulton, whose SHOP VAC vid is linked above, showcases some of the most famous fonts that have permeated our world (along with his super-catchy song). If you think actors at the top tier are any different, you’re missing the point. They are — by design — always on-brand. They’re putting out into the world brand them.” Their every choice is run through The Brand Filter. The sooner you start doing that, the more consistent your flow… and your results. Trust.

This space has become the big bonus section of each BonBlast, so I’mma tell y’all about a tool I’ve been using FOR YEARS to capture webpages that are unprintable or likely to go away (like, let’s say, message boards where folks edit their posts, or a whole run of Facebook threads you’d like to keep before deleting them since Timeline is gonna make your whole life public — like it or not). It’s an add-on (extension) called [toread.cc] and it’s a handy Javascript bookmark you put in your Firefox toolbar, and then just HIT IT when you want to capture a page.
Guys, this shit is ninja. And free. I kid you not. You’re welcome.
