Okay, since I’m answering this question no fewer than 12 times per day, I’m gonna put this post here and hope it helps! (I also hope this answer will no longer be necessary very soon, since books will start arriving.) 😉
The 4th edition of Self-Management for Actors physically arrived in Los Angeles on February 4th. Keith met the truck (from our printer in Canada) at our international distributor’s warehouse in Gardena that day. SCB then had to do intake and inventory, before shipping copies to the major wholesalers (Baker & Taylor and Ingram) which have warehouses in various pockets of the United States.
Those companies have to do intake and inventory before *they* ship copies to *their* buyers (including Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and college/university bookstores). Then *those companies* have to do intake and inventory before they can begin to get to order fulfillment.
So… I know that whole process began with the books getting to SCB on 2/4/14, but how long each leg of that journey takes and what that means in terms of orders going out and showing up at YOUR mailbox? We don’t know.
I’m *guessing* a couple of weeks more, max? I hope folks will let us know when books start arriving from sources OTHER than directly from us (which is where all these photos are coming from, thus far), so we can update everyone.
But for now, please join us at the Facebook group for SMFA, share your photo with us when your book arrives, and if you’re in LA just stop by our office for your copy today!

Just an update: Getting word that Barnes & Noble orders started shipping earlier this week. Amazon has changed the book from pre-order to “temporarily out of stock,” which either means they’re checking them all into inventory now *or* so many were preordered that they’re sold out from the first shipment that came from our distributor (which would be bizarre).
