I’ve always worked from home.
No matter how old I was, I set up a desk and “played office.”
And when I got an office — and my first team of ninja assistants — in grad school, I was stoked.
But for most of the years of Cricket Feet…
…a parade of badass interns has put up with cats…
…clutter, and bad TV, to help me work from home.
When I first rented space at 310 Casting to teach a class in 2008, I was hooked.
Great space that I would use again, in casting sessions as well as classes.
But having “real” office space seemed like a dream we could never attain.
And as interns cycled through…
…and I managed to work *wherever* I happened to drag my laptop…
…we grew the team and hired staff.
Officially.
Still, there were cats, clutter, and bad TV.
Not to say I don’t love a home office!
But I could tell we were outgrowing the space…
…and my health was about to boss me around something fierce.
Illness then surgery then recovery made it clear…
…my limits were not set.
Maybe if there’s OFFICE space, I will clock out sometimes.
Maybe.
(If you wanna see which chair I selected, you’ll have to stop by.)
No problem filling the new space with the touches from home.
Classes still take place at night.
And structure is the newest member of Team Cricket Feet.
I hope you’ll come visit us… after making an appointment. 😉
Look who’s all grown up! Tee hee!
