This is wee me. “Little Bonnie.” That’s what I was called, growing up, because I was named after my great aunt Bonnie Davis, badass polio survivor who lived to be 99.
⠀
This is me, a Montessori two-year-old, happily playing DJ at my little station made out of a Hapeville Hornets stadium seat and tiny four-legged stool my daddy made for me.
⠀
I was always happy. Still am. Even when my life has had days dark enough for me to attempt an end to it all, my setpoint of optimism and growth is intact.
⠀
My idling speed is blissfully busy, hungry to know the why behind the what, and filled with love for the journey that IS The Bonnie Gillespie Experience.
⠀
Today I turn 50. That’s half a hundred. 😳💯🦀
Dear GAWD I don’t know what’s ahead but I know I’m ready for it. I’m enjoying growing old while never really growing up. I get to spend every day doing what I love with my very best friend, and I get to connect with some of the most spectacularly creative and brilliant people on the planet, helping to provide a-ha moments, laughs, and a new way of coming at stuff now and then, #CreatingTheHollywoodWeWant 🏆 Not too shabby.
⠀
Every year, I write “The Sum of All Years,” a story of the year I just finished using the number of words that match the age. Click this to see how I summed up 49 in 49 words. Click through from there to read all the past entries. Tag me if you decide to do this phenomenally clarifying writing challenge for yourself. To sum up the year so succinctly is somehow magical. Makes a lot of nonsense fall away. 🧘🏽♀️💫🦋

Thank you for joining me for my journey. Even if we’ve never met, I’m so glad you’re here. Life is good and I love getting to share it. Here’s to the back half… should I be able to hit near-100 like my great aunt Bonnie did. 💕❤️✨
Enoughness is an inside job… and sometimes you need a guide to find your way there. Let Bonnie Gillespie get you started.
