I Love White Trash Food

I don’t know why it is, but when I’m in a sad mood, a blue mood, or simply a reflective mood, I crave the White Trash Food of my youth: Little Debbie Snack Cakes, Hostess Fruit Pies, Chef Boyardee Mini Ravioli, Franco-American SpaghettiOs with Meatballs, Crunchy Cheetos, Sour Cream and Onion Pringles, and Orange Crush.
Man, I’m one sick puppy. I love it.

My mom has been having some very stressful health issues, and although I am glad to be able to be there for her, the stress is definitely taking its toll on me… I tend to regress to PBJ’s on Wonder bread and Alphabet soup.

Four or Five words: deep-fried macaroni and cheese.

I always think of Cleo (mine and Bonnie’s grandmother for the uninitiated) and Aunt Lucille whenever I see Little Debbies. They always had a stash of them when you went to visit.

What? That isn’t your normal diet in CA?

You just listed everything I know how to cook, save for Mac & Cheese.
Back in my college days, I used to go to the Super Duper (or Super Stupor, as some people called it, because it was one of the primary stops on booze runs) and buy anywhere between five and ten boxes of Prince Macaroni & Cheese for one dollar. Now if that isn’t white trash, I don’t know what is!
