Y’know something I don’t mind much?

Being different. Thinking differently than those around me on certain issues. Having a superpower for “reframing” (seriously. Try me. I can rewrite any script, self-talk loop, headline, whatever).

Based off some of your spectacular and heartfelt comments on last week’s BonBlast there’s confirmation we tamp down the full expression of our enoughness in an attempt to fit in growing up… and we just keep doing it ’til that moment when we realize we’ve gotten so freakin’ far off the mark from who it is we’re supposed to be that we declare ENOUGH and begin excavating what we’ve hidden even from ourselves.

There’s a saying that the definition of Hell is meeting the version of yourself that you could’ve been.

That’s why I find it stunningly beautiful when someone chooses the joy of fitting OUT for a change. It’s as though we’re making sure we never experience Hell that way.

Now, I’m not talking about being different for the sake of being different. Being contrarian because it’s fun to cause trouble for others. Being a rebel no matter what it is you’re rebelling against, always. No, no, and no.

I’m talking about having those true, authentic, unique to you GUT INSTINCTS and then going with them no matter what.

Bonnie Gillespie starts a pole trick in Fiji while others get selfies with the sunset, Feb. 2020

Y’know, like being in Fiji with dozens of women who are taking selfies in the glorious sunset — but spotting a pole and going in for a quick trick — because who doesn’t love taking flight and seeing the world upside-down when the opportunity is RIGHT THERE?

Like breaking into song, randomly, while out in public — because it just feels so good to do so.

Like listening fully as someone shares her thoughts and feelings and then connecting with her not by sharing a similar story from your life but instead asking, “What do I have to offer right now?” I mean, actually asking someone how you can best be of service in their life.

Like stopping the endless scrolling on social media to drop in on the online profile of someone who’s NOT posting, letting them know, “I’m just thinking of you.”

There are so many opportunities every day to do one little thing just a little bit differently. I’d love to know about ways you choose to fit OUT rather than doing the thing that everyone always does, every time.

1. I’m hosting an online party and I want you to join me — and I want you to bring friends. It’s the first-ever SMFA Summit and you can learn all about it, meet my very favorite people who are guests in this inspiring offering, and sign up for FREE at SMFAsummit.com!!

2. You can’t possibly be surprised that the series that won an Emmy for innovation in 2019 would be finding innovative ways to continue production right now, but it is, and that means I’m casting again. Congratulations and thank you to the SMFA ninjas who’ve already self-taped and been cast in Artificial for season 3! Talk about the joy of fitting out!

3. I’ll be hosting a livestream at 12pm PDT Tuesday the 12th on Facebook, YouTube, and Periscope c/o Twitter to chat about the joy of fitting out, innovations in casting, and the SMFA Summit! Join me, won’t you?

Thanks for reading, rockstar. Sending you so much love now and always.

This spoke to me today. Fitting out. What a concept. Enoughness would def be a pre-req methinks, so thank the sweet baby jesus that I’m workin on that. Listening to my gut and then *going with it* is coming easier day by day. Being so damn clear that my being authentic will not cause the world to spontaneously combust is such a gift. haha 🙂

Signed up for the summit and then followed all the peoples on the Twitters and the Instagrams! Woohoo!! Bring it! <3

    Caution: possible rant ahead:

A couple of things regarding fitting out come to mind: 1) when people say “everybody is saying this or that or doing this or that”, I find it sometimes a good thing to counter by saying “the only reason ‘everybody’ is saying or doing that is because everybody is saying or doing that. So say or do something else.’ “, if you get my meaning. Because I almost always wonder “really? EVERYBODY is saying or doing this? If so, that’s all the more reason to go against the flow.” The force going one way should have enough to not mind little old me just kinda going this other way over here if that’s my real inclination. Kinda reminds me of my rage when people on TV keep insisting they want a “normal” life. Really? What IS that?!! I mean, define “normal”. (I am in prayer my late brother wants to find it as what everybody else does, which is when I started wrestling in the same well then the side should have enough people I guess they won’t mind me going to little crosswise of that) And why? If that is somebody’s bent, to kinda move with the flow, cool, but wow. Again, why?

Wow. Doing something or saying something or thinking something just because you’re convinced that everybody else does says or thinks the same way and that being the only reason seems a little shortsighted to me. It seems like if one has that view and doesn’t question it, one abdicates the responsibility of thinking for oneself. Which is dangerous.

Just because everybody else is doing it, or people serve that this is so, seems of a horrible reason to do something. Because it is the right thing to do seems like a great reason to do something. These reasons may occasionally coincide. 🤪

I don’t know who it is who said that “any belief and that can’t stand the least bit of questioning is a belief that is not worth having”, but whoever did say it had a great point. Finally, I don’t know that we should sort of automatically question everything, and we certainly should not just do it rebelliously, just to please our inner punk, but I do think that we should not be afraid to question some things. I think that is really important.

I forgot what I was gonna say for #2. 🤔

The joy of fitting out…… not taking everything one person says to heart, because there’s always somebody in this ugly, yet beautiful world that’ll say something that you take personally. But always remember, what one person says doesn’t matter, what matters is you!
