Okay, I promise that I won’t make everything I write from here on out all about things Liz Gilbert taught me in Fiji.

Not… everything.

But like I said last week, there’s just so freakin’ much I took away from this off-the-grid experience in the South Pacific that it’d be weird for me to charge into my elevendieth overview about how to make magic during agent-meeting season (yes, I will be doing that soon, but not today) when there’s some high-impact ish I crave sharing with you.

So, right after Liz laid down the whole “What are you willing to give up to have the life you keep pretending you want?” question, she revealed that she is desperate for a revolution of RELAXED WOMEN.

(I cannot tell you how pleased I was when my acupuncturist said Friday, “You look the most relaxed I’ve ever seen you,” to me.)

For context, Liz talked about the martial arts truism that the most relaxed person in the room holds the most power. That being relaxed allows us to see the full field of possibility and then choose the best path through all obstacles we face. It’s straight-up evolutionary wiring. It’s primal.

(Let me state for the record that a lifetime in showbiz has me itching to change “women” to “creatives” because while, sure, there’s a biological connection to much of what Liz shared about anxiety, I can safely say that anxiety is way less about gender and way more about sensitivity and connectedness to creativity and an openness to express fully sprinkled with the vulnerability of true empathy. So, while Liz’s revolution is one of RELAXED WOMEN, mine is one of RELAXED CREATIVES. Got it?)

According to Liz, to be female is to be anxious…
~ that we are prey
~ that there is a certain way to look
~ that there is a certain way to behave

And if we’re not anxious about our own safety, our own bodies, our own behaviors… we are anxious about everyone else’s safety, bodies, behaviors; the wellness of the planet; our collective future.

She described this anxiety as “a radio playing in another room of your house for your whole life.”

Woof.

I totally have had that radio in some room I cannot even find the DOOR for, at times.

Since there’s not a status that ENDS anxiety (Liz listed off a whole bunch o’ folks she’s met, worked with, encountered casually who have everything you may SAY would cure you of anxiety, so we know it’s not a thing that gets fixed with “making it” somewhere), Liz’s suggestion was that we just go ahead and GET RELAXED.

She said that a truly relaxed state has nothing to do with how it APPEARS things are going in our lives.

Whaddayaknow… my new buddy Liz Gilbert is teaching unconditional enoughness, right here on this private island.

And in Liz’s version of my enoughness revolution, there are three key elements to being fully relaxed.

I’m going to share them in my March Forth livestream. (It’s a “March Forth” livestream because I’m doing it on March 4th. Get it? πŸ˜‰ Ha ha ha ha ha! I crack myself up!)

Join me for this Liztastic broadcast (at Facebook, YouTube, or Periscope and/or Twitter) at 12pm PST Wednesday! Woo HOO! [REPLAY BELOW!]

This is gonna be fun!

Y’all know that unfuckwithable enoughness is the secret to weathering all of life’s ups and downs. And if the concept of curing anxiety through cultivating a state of relaxation clicks for you in a way that “enoughness” doesn’t, man, I’m even more thrilled I went off the grid for those 10 days last month.

I cannot wait to share this with you!

All my love,
