Hello beautiful people of Expansive Capacity!
It’s time once again for Superpower Sunday! 🙂
As always, this is all about how we can implement wee changes that may turbocharge our *existing* superpowers so that we don’t dim our own lights due to inertia, stress, or any other upper-limit problem that reveals itself along our path.
This month’s Superpower Sunday is about my Pass/Fail method.
So much of the time, we hold ourselves to super high standards. Unreasonable requirements for “good job” status. Ridiculous and rigid MUSTS that we would never set up for others.
*raising my hand*
Yeah. That’s been me.
Here’s one of the tools I use to soften that: Pass/Fail.
If I am stressing about writing my new book, for example, I may get myself in a place of so much overwhelm and anxiety that I cannot even REACH my best self for kicking in a flow state writing session. So rather than spinning my wheels about how stressed out I am and how I’m not making my deadline and how much I *want* to write but cannot… or going over to the other end of the spectrum and making myself sick or declaring creative bankruptcy for the day… I decide my book is on Pass/Fail for the day.
Pass = I show up at the computer and write something. Anything. Or I get out my journal and find the flagged notes I’ve left for myself about the book within those pages, putting them into Scrivener without trying to WRITE anything. Just getting the words moved over.
Fail = I do NOTHING resembling anything like writing. NOTHING.
The likelihood there’s a day in my life when I do NO writing is very low. It’s my strongest muscle after like breathing, probably. 😉
So, yes, I’m setting myself up to SUCCEED, just by getting binary with my criteria.
And honey, sometimes a WIN is the very thing we need to feel so much better about SO many things.
Try this. Let me know how it goes for you. I feel as though right now tactics like this are more meaningful than ever.

As always, there is so very much love flowing your way!
